ITINERARY

Day 1: Phnom Penh Arrival

Arrive in Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s bustling capital, where your adventure begins. After settling in, meet your group and guide at a welcome meeting at 6 pm. If you arrive early, explore the lively riverside city, set at the confluence of the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers. You may choose to take a walk along the waterfront, enjoy street food, or visit a rooftop bar for panoramic views of the city.

Day 2: Cycling through Mekong Island

After breakfast, set out on a scenic bike ride across the Mekong River to Koh Dach (Silk Island). Discover peaceful countryside, traditional stilt houses, and small workshops where locals weave silk by hand. Ride past rice paddies and orchards, gaining insights into rural life. Return to Phnom Penh for a free afternoon to explore at your pace. Recommended visits include:

  • Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum.
  • Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda.
  • Local markets or café hopping.

Day 3: Phnom Penh to Stung Treng via Kratie and Koh Trong Homestay

Begin an overland journey northward with a stop at Skuon (famous for its fried spiders!) before reaching Kratie, a charming riverside town. From there, take a short boat ride to Koh Trong Island. Settle into your homestay and enjoy a traditional Khmer dinner with your hosts. Relax in a hammock and soak up the slow pace of island life.

Day 4: Koh Trong – Dolphin Watching – Stung Treng

Start your day with a guided walk or bicycle ride around Koh Trong, where you can participate in a tree planting initiative. Afterward, return to Kratie and travel onward to Kampi, where you’ll take a boat ride on the Mekong in search of the endangered Irrawaddy dolphins. Continue your journey to Stung Treng, near the Laos border, and end the day with a sunset walk around town.

Day 5: Kayaking and Hiking in the Mekong Wetlands

Rise early and board a boat toward the Sopheakmit Waterfall at the Cambodia–Laos border. After a short hike through pristine jungle trails, enjoy lunch with a view. Then, kayak along the flooded forests near Osvay village, a haven for birdlife and scenic waterways. Return to Stung Treng by minibus for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Stung Treng to Siem Reap

Depart Stung Treng and journey southwest toward Siem Reap, gateway to Angkor. Arrive in the afternoon and check in to your hotel. Later, take a guided tuk-tuk tour of the town center to get oriented. Siem Reap offers a vibrant blend of street markets, art galleries, cafés, and nightlife to explore on your own this evening.
