OVERVIEW

Your adventure begins with a flight to Lukla and follows the Dudh Koshi River as you trek through beautiful Sherpa hamlets. You’ll take acclimatization breaks in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche, walk around 6 hours each day, and reach Everest Base Camp on the eighth day. The journey culminates with a climb to Kala Patthar before descending back to Kathmandu.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Journey from Kathmandu to Lukla & Trek to Phakding

After a 30-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860m), begin your trek along the Dudh Koshi River, passing tea houses and scattered pastures. After a 3-hour walk, arrive at Phakding (2,610m) and spend the night there.

Day 2: Phakding to Namche Bazaar

Start with a gentle walk to Monjo, entering Sagarmatha National Park. The trail then ascends steeply to Namche Bazaar (3,440m), with stunning views of Everest and Lhotse en route. Namche, the gateway to the Khumbu region, is your base for two nights for acclimatization.

Day 3: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar

Spend the day exploring Namche. Opt for a hike to Khumjung village or Everest View Hotel for panoramic mountain views. Alternatively, relax in Namche and enjoy the bazaar.

Day 4: Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche

Climb to Kyangjuma and onward to Tyangboche (3,870m), a Sherpa village surrounding a famous monastery. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and other towering peaks.

Day 5: Tyangboche to Dingboche

Pass through the forests of the Imja Valley, reaching the Sherpa village of Pangboche. Continue to Dingboche (4,410m) for the night.

Day 6: Acclimatization Day in Dingboche

Take another acclimatization break. Explore Dingboche or take an optional hike to Chhukung (4,750m) or Nangkartshang Peak (5,083m) to further adjust to the altitude.

Day 7: Dingboche to Lobuche

The landscape becomes drier and more rugged as you head toward Lobuche (4,940m), with views of Taboche, Cholatse, and Nuptse peaks along the way.

Day 8: Lobuche to Everest Base Camp via Gorakhshep

Trek to Gorakhshep (5,164m), the last settlement before Everest Base Camp. After lunch, continue to Everest Base Camp (5,364m) for stunning views of the Khumbu Icefall and surrounding peaks.

Day 9: Gorakhshep to Kala Patthar & Descend to Pheriche

Climb to Kala Patthar for spectacular 360-degree views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Pumori. After taking in the breathtaking scenery, begin your descent to Pheriche (4,371m).

Day 10: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar

Follow the trail back to Namche Bazaar, enjoying magnificent mountain views.

Day 11: Namche Bazaar to Lukla

Retrace your steps to Lukla, passing through picturesque Sherpa villages such as Monjo, Phakding, and Chheplung along the way.

Day 12: Lukla to Kathmandu

Board your flight back to Kathmandu, concluding your unforgettable Everest Base Camp adventure.
