ITINERARY

Day 1: Fly to Lukla & Trek to Phakding

Start your adventure with a scenic 40-minute flight from Kathmandu (or a 4-6 hour drive to Manthali, followed by a short flight) to Lukla. From here, embark on a gentle three-hour trek to Phakding, a charming village in the Khumbu region. This easy trek along the Dudh Koshi River offers your first glimpses of Sherpa culture and the stunning landscape. You’ll stay overnight at a guesthouse in Phakding, preparing for the more challenging trek ahead.

Day 2: Trek to Namche Bazaar

After breakfast, trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar, the main Sherpa town. The five-hour trek follows the Dudh Koshi River and crosses several suspension bridges, leading into Sagarmatha National Park. The trail becomes steeper as you approach Namche, but the reward is breathtaking views of Everest and surrounding peaks. Namche Bazaar is a bustling hub for trekkers and offers a blend of local Sherpa culture, vibrant markets, and cozy guesthouses, where you will stay for the night.

Day 3: Acclimatization Day in Namche

Spend the day acclimatizing in Namche to prepare for the higher altitude. Explore the town, visit the Sherpa culture museum, and take a short hike to Syangboche Airport and Hotel Everest View for panoramic vistas of Everest, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. This hike helps your body adjust to the altitude while offering stunning mountain views. Afterward, relax back in Namche, where you’ll stay overnight, ensuring you’re well-rested for the next leg of your trek.

Day 4: Trek to Tengboche

Continue your trek with a five-hour journey from Namche to Tengboche, one of the most scenic sections of the route. Pass through rhododendron forests, cross rivers, and catch glimpses of Everest and Ama Dablam. In the afternoon, visit Tengboche Monastery, a spiritual center in the region, and enjoy unparalleled views of Everest and nearby peaks. The serene setting and stunning landscapes make Tengboche a memorable stop before your overnight stay at a local guesthouse.

Day 5: Trek to Dingboche

After breakfast, trek from Tengboche to Dingboche, ascending through the Imja Valley and past Pangboche village. Cross the Imja Khola River and trek through the alpine landscape, with views of the Lobuche River and surrounding mountains. After 5-6 hours of trekking, you’ll reach Dingboche, a traditional Sherpa village at 4,410 meters. The village offers spectacular views of Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Island Peak. Overnight stay here allows you to acclimatize further.

Day 6: Trek to Lobuche

From Dingboche, trek to Lobuche, a small village at 4,910 meters. The route offers panoramic views of peaks like Tawachee and Cholatse. You’ll pass by memorials dedicated to fallen climbers and follow the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. After a five-hour trek, reach Lobuche, where you can enjoy the stunning views of Nuptse, Pumori, and other mountains. You’ll stay overnight in Lobuche to rest before your final push to Everest Base Camp.

Day 7: Trek to Everest Base Camp & Return to Gorakshep

Today’s trek is the most challenging yet rewarding as you trek to Everest Base Camp (5,360 meters). Pass through the Khumbu Glacier and alpine moraine trails, with stunning views of Everest and surrounding peaks. Upon reaching Everest Base Camp, you’ll experience the thrill of standing at the foot of the world’s highest mountain. After soaking in the views, return to Gorakshep, where you will spend the night.

Day 8: Helicopter Return from Kala Patthar

Start early with a hike to Kala Patthar, the trek’s highest point at 5,555 meters. This viewpoint offers awe-inspiring panoramic views of Everest, the Khumbu Glacier, and surrounding peaks. After a photoshoot at this iconic location, a helicopter will pick you up for a thrilling aerial tour of the Everest region, hovering over Everest Base Camp.
