Our adventure begins with a thrilling flight to Lukla, renowned as one of the world’s most dangerous airports. The 30-minute flight offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas, setting the tone for your trekking experience. Upon arrival in Lukla, we will enjoy breakfast in a local lodge and meet our porters. After a brief introduction, we’ll set off on our trek towards Monjo, passing through charming villages like Chaurikharka and Phakding along the way. The trail descends gently, providing pleasant views of the landscape. After lunch in Phakding, we will continue our journey, crossing the Dudh Koshi River before gradually ascending to our overnight stop in Monjo.
Following breakfast in Monjo, we will embark on a memorable day of trekking to Namche Bazaar, the gateway to the Everest region. The journey begins by passing through the national park check post and involves crossing the Dudh Koshi River multiple times. The trail gradually ascends, culminating in a steep climb to the Top Danda, where we will be rewarded with spectacular views of Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse. Arriving in Namche, a bustling town full of amenities and culture, we will settle into our guesthouse, giving you time to explore the area and rest.
After a hearty breakfast, we will dedicate this day to acclimatization. The plan includes a trek to the twin villages of Khumjung and Khunde, situated above Namche. The initial climb leads us to the Everest View Hotel, where we can soak in the panoramic views of Everest and its neighboring peaks. The rest of the day is relatively relaxed, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the vibrant Sherpa culture, ensuring you’re well-adjusted for the following trekking days.
Today, we will set out for Tengboche, renowned for its magnificent monastery and stunning views of Ama Dablam. After breakfast, we’ll trek through lush forests, descending to Phunki Tenga for lunch. Following our meal, we’ll cross the Dudh Koshi River and begin a steep ascent towards Tengboche. As we climb, we’ll be treated to gorgeous views of local villages and the surrounding mountains. Upon reaching Tengboche, we’ll visit the famous Tengboche Monastery and have the opportunity to attend a prayer session, immersing ourselves in the local Buddhist culture.
After enjoying breakfast with a view of Ama Dablam, we will start our trek back towards Namche Bazaar. The descent to Phunki Tenga is gentle, followed by a steep ascent to Kyanjuma. From there, the trail becomes easier as we approach Namche, where you can enjoy some leisure time. This day allows us to reflect on our journey and relax in the vibrant atmosphere of this Himalayan town, preparing for the final leg of our trek.
Our journey continues as we trek from Namche back to Monjo or Phakding. We’ll start our day with breakfast before descending through beautiful green hills and crossing the Dudh Koshi River once again. The day’s trek is filled with stunning views of the surrounding peaks, making it an enjoyable experience as we retrace our steps through the Khumbu region. We will settle into our guesthouse for the night, reflecting on our unforgettable experiences in the Himalayas.
On our final trekking day, we will have a relaxed breakfast before starting our journey back to Lukla. The trek back is relatively short and mostly uphill, allowing us to soak in the last views of the beautiful landscapes we have traversed. Upon reaching Lukla, we can celebrate our successful trek with refreshments at a local bar. This evening will be a time to express gratitude to our porters for their support throughout the journey.
After a leisurely morning in Lukla, we will board our early flight back to Kathmandu. The flight, lasting about 30 minutes, offers one last opportunity to enjoy stunning views of the Himalayas from the air. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you can choose to relax at your hotel or explore the vibrant city.
