Notably, there is a 17th-century stone inscription embedded in the palace wall, showcasing writings in 15 different languages. This square remains the social, religious, and urban hub of the city and features three museums within the palace.

Perched atop a hill on the western side of the valley, this massive stupa is one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in Nepal, tied to the legend of the Kathmandu Valley’s formation. Swayambhunath is often referred to as the Monkey Temple due to the numerous monkeys that inhabit the area.
– Pashupatinath Temple (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
Located 5 km east of the city center, Pashupatinath is one of the holiest Hindu shrines globally, featuring a richly ornamented pagoda that houses the sacred Linga, or phallic symbol, of Lord Shiva. Located about 22 km outside of Kathmandu, Dakshinkali is known for the sacrificial rituals performed twice a week.
