ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Paro

Arrive in Paro after a spectacular flight over the Himalayas, where you’ll be greeted by your guide. Depending on your arrival time, visit Rinpung Dzong, a fortress known for its stunning wall paintings and rich history. Afterward, drive to Thimphu, passing through scenic landscapes, local farms, and the historic Tachogang Lhakhang, a temple built by a renowned 15th-century figure. Check into your hotel and enjoy an evening stroll through the vibrant streets of Thimphu.

Day 2: Explore Thimphu

After breakfast, immerse yourself in Thimphu’s cultural landmarks, including the King’s Memorial Chorten and the Folk Heritage Museum. Visit the giant Buddha statue at Kuenselphodrang for panoramic views of the valley. In the afternoon, experience the local scene at the Weekend Market, filled with fresh produce and handicrafts, offering fantastic photo opportunities. Spend the evening shopping for souvenirs at local handicraft stores before returning to your hotel for the night.

Day 3: Thimphu to Punakha

Embark on a morning drive to Dochula Pass, where you can admire breathtaking Himalayan views. Begin a two-hour hike to Lungchuzekha Monastery, traversing rhododendron forests and encountering colorful prayer flags along the way. After lunch, descend through forests to Punakha, where you’ll visit the stunning Punakha Dzong, strategically located at the confluence of two rivers. Spend the night in Punakha.

Day 4: Punakha Cultural Exploration

Today, cross Bhutan’s longest suspension bridge and follow a scenic trail along the Mo Chu River to a local village. Day 5: Punakha to Paro

Day 6: Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery

Prepare for a vigorous hike to Taktsang Monastery, Bhutan’s most iconic site, perched 900 meters above the Paro Valley. The trek serves as a warm-up for your next adventures. Stop for lunch at the Cafeteria Restaurant, located halfway up the mountain, and take time to explore the monastery’s breathtaking surroundings. After returning to Paro, enjoy a traditional Bhutanese meal at a local farmhouse, concluding your stay with a soothing hot stone bath.

Day 7: Departure
