Laos to Thailand: Night Markets & Mekong Cruising

Day 1: Arrival in Vientiane

Day 2: Travel to Vang Vieng

After breakfast, travel to Vang Vieng, a picturesque town surrounded by limestone karsts. Take a guided hike to a famous viewpoint for breathtaking views of the valley. Enjoy an evening drink with your new friends as you toast to the start of your adventures.

Day 3: Explore Vang Vieng

Today is yours to explore Vang Vieng at your own pace. Rent a bike, go caving, or kayak to the famous Blue Lagoon. Engage in optional activities to experience the stunning natural beauty and vibrant culture of this lively town.

Day 4: Journey to Luang Prabang

Travel to the charming city of Luang Prabang. After an afternoon orientation walk, hike up Mount Phousi for a stunning sunset view over the Mekong River. Spend the evening sampling local street food.

Day 5: Discover Kuang Si Waterfalls

Wake early to witness the monks’ alms-giving ceremony. Then, embark on a guided excursion to the beautiful Kuang Si Waterfalls, where you can swim in the turquoise pools and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

Day 6: Mekong River Homestay

Board a cozy houseboat for a two-day cruise on the Mekong River. Travel to a village homestay where you’ll participate in a traditional Baci welcome ceremony and enjoy dinner with your hosts.

Day 7: Continue Mekong Cruising

Continue your journey on the Mekong, taking in the stunning landscapes and keeping an eye out for wildlife along the way. Arrive in Chiang Khong, Thailand, by the late afternoon.

Day 8: Drive to Chiang Mai

Enjoy scenic countryside views on the drive to Chiang Mai. Spend the afternoon exploring the city, visiting its temples and markets, or trying optional activities like a Thai cooking class or a massage.

Day 9: Overnight Train to Bangkok

Discover more of Chiang Mai before boarding an overnight train to Bangkok. Experience the unique comfort of the train and wake up ready to explore Thailand’s vibrant capital.

Day 10: Explore Bangkok

Upon arrival in Bangkok, the day is yours to explore. Visit iconic sights such as the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, or take a riverboat trip through the canals for a unique perspective of the city. In the evening, celebrate your journey with a night out with your fellow travelers.

Day 11: Departure Day
