Upon arrival in Delhi, you’ll be welcomed at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Spend the day exploring India’s bustling capital city on your own before gathering with the group and tour guide at 6:00 p.m. for a welcome meeting. If you arrive early, take the optional “Backstreets of Delhi” tour, where you’ll sample local street food, explore the lively Khari Baoli spice market, and visit the colorful Bazar Matia Mahal near Jama Masjid Mosque.
Begin with a full day of sightseeing across Old and New Delhi, including the UNESCO-listed Humayun’s Tomb and Jama Masjid, India’s oldest and largest mosque. Visit the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib Sikh temple, known for its community kitchen feeding thousands daily, and enjoy a rickshaw ride around Chandni Chowk bazaar. Later, tour New Delhi’s Rajpath and see India Gate. In the afternoon, transfer to Agra and check into your hotel, followed by a group Namaste dinner for 2024 departures.
Today, you’ll visit the magnificent Taj Mahal, built by Emperor Shah Jahan as a tribute to his late wife. Capture this timeless symbol of love with photos, then explore Agra Fort, a red sandstone fortress rich with Mughal history and architectural elegance.
Depart for Karauli or Dholpur, with a stop for lunch en route. Stay at the heritage Bhanwar Vilas Palace in Karauli or the Raj Niwas Palace in Dholpur, both former residences of royal families. Explore the palatial grounds, take in the art deco architecture, view vintage cars, or relax by the pool. Attend an evening Aarti (prayer) if desired.
Drive to Jaipur, the UNESCO-listed Pink City. Upon arrival, enjoy a tour of the City Palace and Jantar Mantar Space Observatory, which boasts 19 separate astrological instruments, providing insights into the city’s architectural and scientific heritage.
Start your day with an optional hot air balloon ride over Jaipur, then continue with a jeep ride to Amber Fort, where a guided tour awaits. Visit a cotton weaving house for a demonstration of traditional fabric dyeing techniques.
Board an early train to Udaipur, arriving by afternoon. Enjoy free time to explore this scenic city known as the “City of Lakes.” You may visit a local palace or temple, or perhaps visit Bagore Ki Haveli Museum, known for its Rajasthani dance show. Alternatively, dine at a restaurant with views of Lake Pichola.
Enjoy a guided tour of Udaipur, where you’ll explore the City Palace Museum, Sahelion-ki-Bari gardens, and Jagdish Temple. Complete the day with a shared boat ride on Lake Pichola, offering scenic views of the palatial surroundings.
Fly back to Delhi, where you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure, enjoying the city or reflecting on your journey through India.
