ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival at Paro

Upon landing at Paro International Airport, you’ll be welcomed and escorted to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and explore the surroundings at your leisure.

Day 2: Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery

Today, embark on a hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery, a sacred site where Guru Padmasambhava is believed to have meditated in the 8th century. The steep ascent is rewarded with breathtaking views and a chance to experience this spiritual landmark up close.

Day 3: Travel to Thimphu

After breakfast, you’ll journey to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital. Your first stop is the ancient fortress of Simtokha Dzong, which offers insight into Bhutan’s architectural heritage. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure, exploring the peaceful capital.

Day 4: Start of Trekking

The trek begins today as you head north toward Dechencholing Palace. After reaching Pangrizam, where the road ends, you’ll start your hike to Shong Pang, camping near Chamina village after a four to five-hour trek.

Day 5: Trek to Dopshing Pang

Your journey continues as you ascend to Sinchula Pass, where, if the weather is favorable, you can see Phajodhing Monastery. Afterward, descend towards Thinly Gang village, finally reaching Dopshing Pang.

Day 6: Trek to Chorten Ningpo

Today’s trek is gradual as you traverse dense forests and rice fields, highlighting Bhutan’s stunning natural landscape. This area is known for its virgin blue pine forests, making the hike a refreshing experience.

Day 7: Journey to Punakha

Trek for a couple of hours to the road leading to Punakha. Once in Punakha, visit Punakha Dzong, a historical site nestled between two rivers, Pochu and Mochu. Here, you’ll learn about its significance and enjoy the beauty of the architecture. Overnight in Zomlingthang.

Day 8: Trek to Limukha

After breakfast, embark on a steady ascent through chir pine forests toward Limukha. This half-day climb rewards you with splendid views of the Punakha Valley and surrounding mountains.

Day 9: Trek to Wangdiphodrang

Depart from Limukha and trek towards Chungsaka. The trail leads through forests filled with oaks and rhododendrons, eventually crossing Dochula Pass, where stunning mountain vistas await. Complete your trek and drive to Wangdiphodrang for the night.

Day 10: Return to Thimphu

On your way back to Thimphu, stop to explore Punakha Dzong. Continue your journey over Dochula Pass, arriving in Thimphu, where you’ll have the evening to relax.

Day 11: Drive to Paro

Take the scenic route to Paro, where you’ll have the chance to see various styles of chortens representative of Tibetan, Bhutanese, and Nepalese architecture.
