Don’t miss the Takin Preserve, where you might catch a glimpse of Bhutan’s national animal. The day concludes with visits to local craft workshops and the Handicrafts Emporium.
Rise early for a scenic drive to Punakha, traversing lush forests until you reach Dochula Pass. Take in stunning views of the Himalayan peaks before continuing to the Punakha Valley. Enjoy a 1.5 to 2-hour hike to Chimi Lhakhang Temple, dedicated to the Divine Mad Monk, and then visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, located at the confluence of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers. Spend the evening relaxing at your campsite, with the option to enjoy a traditional hot stone bath.
After breakfast, embark on a hike to Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking valley views. Explore charming villages along the ridge before stopping for a picnic lunch. Visit Sangchen Dorji Lhendrup Nunnery, where nuns receive religious training and learn various skills. After this enriching experience, travel back to Paro.
Today, trek to the legendary Tiger’s Nest Monastery, perched on a 900-meter cliff above Paro Valley. The hike takes 4 to 6 hours and offers stunning views along the way. Stop at a cafeteria for refreshments before continuing to the monastery. Explore the shrines and temples within before returning to the cafeteria for lunch. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Bhutanese dinner at a farmhouse, immersing yourself in local culture and cuisine.
After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to Bhutan. Your guide will transfer you to Paro Airport for your onward flight, concluding this unforgettable journey through the enchanting landscapes and rich culture of Bhutan.
